As other reviews have mentioned, the hot side valve cartridge can be used on the cold side by removing the spring clip and rotating the brass stop 90 degrees. You don't have to remove the inside of the valve, just twist the separate brass piece and push the clip back in. Looks like a real Kohler valve. Removing the old valve cartridges from the large faucet main bodies was a difficult task. I was hoping to get them off the top without taking the sinks apart, but that proved futile. Maybe you're luckier than me. If not, use a hex head while holding the faucet body in a vise (clamp the two flats on the bottom of the threaded part). The valve cartridges are supplied with plastic slot adapters, so there is no need to order them separately.
