These flip flops literally saved me from foot surgery this year. I had a silicone joint replaced on my big toe two years ago. It helped my big toe, but the unintended consequence (which my podiatrist didn't tell me about) was that all the weight was on my second toe, causing it to push down and pierce my metatarsal plate. The sole of my foot hurt a lot and my second toe started crossing over my big toe. Not good! So I was scheduled for surgery (by an orthopedic podiatrist) to repair the tear and trim my second toe, with a 6 week recovery on a knee walker! Uhhh! While internally contemplating the surgery, I happened to see them at Revain's, ordered them and started wearing them constantly on my aching foot with my Teva sandals and Merrell boots - they both have a lot of cushioning in the forefoot area. I thought they would at least keep my fingers straight! But after a few weeks the pain in my foot decreased dramatically. Three months later, my surgeon canceled the operation because my leg felt very good. Wonderful! I still have some numbness and pain at night, but that's nothing compared to the trauma of the surgery - when the doctors tell you that you're really lucky if you get an 80 percent improvement, I'm very grateful and blessed.
