Plug it into your TV's HDMI port, plug the USB end into your TV's USB port (for power). For Windows 10 search "connect to a wireless display" or when using a laptop, it most likely has a function key that looks like a monitor to select projectors or secondary displays. In any case, there is a 'Connect to a wireless display' button, press it and wait a few seconds and you should see your TV appear in the list. Click on it and in a few seconds you will have a second display that can be used as a clone, an extension or as a single display. I had no issues with lag, dropouts, audio glitches, or anything else negative. . Just an elegant extended monitor. I haven't checked the range though as I use mine within 10-15 feet of the receiver.
