High Quality Air Intake for 2017 Explorer 2.3 Ecoboost. Clear instructions and easy assembly made this upgrade a breeze. This modification fundamentally changed the sound of this engine. Update: The intake air temperature is about 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit higher than the ambient temperature. When stopped, the intake temperature is high, around 110-130, although when driving, the temperature immediately drops to +5-10 above ambient. The OEM intake air temperature followed the same behavior but stayed closer to the outside air temperature. This intake kit draws air from behind the driver's headlight area, so there is no real problem if air is drawn in that is too hot.
