My daughter got a leopard gecko and after much research decided that an underfloor heater would be best for her 10 gallon aquarium. And like a good pet owner, she took her temperature carefully. The USP wasn't enough. Possibly due to aquarium type or poor quality UTH, not sure. So she added an adjustable heat lamp and was happy with a couple of lightbulbs. It hit target temperatures within a few weeks, shows no signs of stopping and we have a backup.
