The only guide you get is a piece of paper with diagrams of different tools (depending on which one you bought). The picture was so blurry and there was no mark. Installation steps not included. The metal back plate attached to the wall has many holes and yet I could not match any with my electrical box. The worst part is figuring out how to screw the lantern to the metal plate. As there were no instructions included in the kit I had to play around with different ways and decided to put the screw behind the plate that goes through the black bracket and then use the round plastic cap to tighten both sides. If you screw it in too tight, there will be a gap between the wall and the bracket. It was so frustrating trying to figure out the best way to do this. After 30 minutes I just decided to drill a hole in the wall behind each screw and just push the screw in. The device is good, but the instructions were not useful at all.
