My son is 7 years old but he is very small, in the 5th percentile. He usually wears size 5T. I bought a size 6 after reading some comments about it shrinking after the first wash. I received the item on time and let my son try it on. It was a very loose fit which I was happy with as I expected it to shrink to match after washing. After the first and only wash, it shrank so much and got so tight that he had trouble putting it on. I compared it to his old pajamas which were shorter than 4T. I'm sending it back!
