Review on πŸ”Š Jamo Studio Series S 810 Subwoofer (Black): Unleashing Powerful Bass for Immersive Audio Experience by Joy Anderson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fair price. Not the best, but "the best " is way overpriced. it's good enough

Very good subwoofer. PROVIDED you take the time to calibrate it properly. I think that applies to almost every subwoofer, but especially to the Jamo S810. At the usual 12 o'clock position for the volume and crossover, the sound is just too loud and distorts a bit. But you can and should play around with the controls and listen carefully to make sure the sound coming out is comfortable (best) to YOUR ears (every person has their own personal preference). The price I think depends on each person. The rich will find it ridiculously cheap. The average person can find it around $200 for the right price. I have a feeling the sweet spot would be $150. It's a bit overpriced for what you get. I've definitely heard better subwoofers. But at a much higher price. I like the design and the build quality. That's great. Except that the controls are on the bottom of the device. It's a pain when, when you're playing something that's too different from the normal content you normally listen to, you can tweak these controls. However, since they're not available on the bottom of the device, your only option is to lift the entire device, rotate it 180 degrees, adjust the dials, and then reverse the process to properly return the device to its intended position. I understand it's a good idea to put the cable ports at the bottom to make them less intrusive, but the controls definitely don't belong there. I am very happy with my purchase (after setting it up). I recommend it to those who don't want to spend too much money and still want to get a pretty good subwoofer. Cheers, R.UPDATE: After living with this properly tuned subwoofer for several days, I can say that this is the highlight of the Jamo 5.1 speaker system that I have purchased. A very good subwoofer despite the details I already mentioned in my original review. Conclusion: Keep it up! Just don't expect more than what you pay for.
