UPDATE: After I posted the review (below), the company contacted me a day or two later and confirmed that the information I posted were correct. I didn't hear from them after that, but about a week later they shipped a new storage/pressure vessel to my home for free. Sure enough, after I plugged it in and flushed it twice, it's been working fine ever since. I don't know why this wasn't resolved with my first emails/calls but I'm glad it was eventually resolved and at no extra cost to me. After several days of use, the leaking water developed a distinct (unpleasant) taste and smell. REO systems. After disconnecting the accumulator/pressure vessel it became clear that the problem came from there. I tried flushing the entire system 4 times but the taste/smell came back. I tried several times to contact the manufacturer and the seller. I received an email from Applied Membranes asking if I checked the TDS readings. I bought a tester and the TDS was ok. I have explained this via email and tried to explain that it is clearly a storage tank/pressure tank issue. I asked several times to change the tank and even said I would cover the shipping cost, but they didn't respond to my emails or phone calls. As a result, the device was basically useless until I bought a new tank.
