Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to use. I used it and liked it a lot, but my mom didn't want to "waste time" and learn how to use it. She literally tried a corn husk and refused. She went with a good old spatula. Depending on whether you're willing to spend a little time learning how to use it, this might be for you. I liked it and the time was reduced. The trick is to dry the shell, add a drop of masa to the shell and use the spatula to press and pull down firmly. I love that you always get the same thickness of masa for each tamale. It's cheap enough to try!
