Too tight. for my opinion

TL:DR? These didn’t work for me, but they may work for you.The Fabric:These compression socks are made of a stretch, machine washable black fabric that has spiral stitches up the calves. The size is clearly marked in white along with an airplane symbol inside the top band of the sock. These socks are knee high in length and come as a single pair. The Fit:According to the charts provided, I should be a Medium. I have a 9 inch ankle, 16 inch calf, and wear a size 10 shoe. I ordered an XL as I heard/have experienced that most compression socks run small. I could barely get these on. I had to lay flat on my back straining with all my might. Immediately upon getting them on, the top of my foot began hurting just in front of the ankle. I’m no wuss, but this clearly wasn’t right. I took it right off and went a searching for information and if I needed to do something different. I saw in another review that after wearing them for 15 minutes, things got better as the sock "warmed up” and got comfortable. I tried again. I only lasted 5 minutes. By the end of those 5 minutes, I was experiencing cramps in my thighs, tingling in my calves and feet, and an incredibly sharp pain in the veins of my left calf. Not right at all! After talking them off, the symptoms lasted for about another hour before dissipating. I’m very fair skinned (ethereal really). I can easily see that my veins are very prominent, visible and lay close to the surface. Running my fingers over my calves, I can feel their pulsating bumps (hmm, what a delightful sensation). These socks left bruising behind, but I should mention that I bruise like a grape anyway. They clearly don’t work for me, but I won’t dismiss the potentially that they may work for you. Typically, you have several pairs of compression socks and switch them out throughout the week. If you have your heart set on these, I recommend buying only a single pair and trying them out before committing to several sets of them. I’d also try them on before you work a long shift, take your flight, etc. to make sure you won’t have any problems with them and carry and extra pair of socks with you in the event something does come up.The Second Opinion:To ensure it wasn’t just me (or perhaps that it’s a family thing), I had my mother try these on. According to the size chart, she’s a Small. She couldn’t even get the sock on. Not up her foot and definitely up her calf. However, again, it could be they way we’re built. I do take after her. We may have some sort of weird genetic thing going on here. Either way, the socks didn’t fit and they cause some major red flag health concerns when I wore them.+Pros:+Made for travel+Machine washable+Size is clearly labeled inside the band-Cons:-Didn’t fit (even though I went two sizes up; three for my mother)-Caused cramps, tingling, numbness, and pain upon wearOverall, I’m going to go ahead and yield that this may have been the build of my body that caused these problems. I’ll be trying another pair (different kind by the same brand) to see if there’s a difference or this is simply a no go for me. 3 out of 5 stars. Try cautiously.

Pros
  • Comfort
Cons
  • Putting the second sock on it tore from my fingers that were pulling it up.
