Review on Hygger Sponge Filter for Aquarium - Dual Sponge Media, 4 Biochemical Sponges, 1 Bag of Filtered Ceramic Balls - Ultra Quiet Fish Tank Filter (S/M) by Amber Vue

I am pleasantly surprised at how well this filter cleans the water in my wife's 10 gallon aquarium where she overwinters goldfish from her pond. I expected the ceramic balls to start working in a couple of weeks. That may be true, but apparently even foam filters do something. I was also surprised at how much water flow came out of the air filter. The only downside is that the pipe to which the air line is to be connected has exactly the same outside diameter as a standard aquarium air hose. A lousy, thin-walled PennPlex hose that I almost didn't put on this pipe. I bought a brand from PetSmart with thicker walls and more flexibility and still had trouble fitting it to the filter but I managed. Please note that a non-return valve is not included and is required to prevent water from draining from the tank in the event of a power or pump failure.
