I have a "passive POE" injector with 1350 ft of cable including span to span (female/female and male RJ45), connected to a DROK buck boost converter to charge the battery at the top of the mountain with a 25 watt steady load. Very low voltage drop, this material is sturdy but easy to use and I love the red color of what I'm doing with it. It's 18/2 and I could probably get by with either cable, but I think it was worth the cost in this case.
