Poor quality control, I had to tweak it to make it work because the wick was too short

I liked the concept of this device as it's quite small and easy to carry along with the addition of built-in lighting. However, after completely soaking the wick included in the kit, filling the tank with water, connecting to the network and pressing the button on top, a single bubble of fog formed (like from a diffuser), and that's it. I went over the very meager instructions to make sure I hadn't missed anything, but no pressing of the top button did the trick. I soaked the wick again in case it wasn't completely soaked, but still nothing. . I was frustrated at this point but my curiosity as to what the problem was made me go back there to find out as the headlights worked perfectly. After realizing that it releases vapor when turned on its side, I found that the included wick was too short, just over 1/4 inch. To fix this I took a plain straw, cut off 1/4 inch and stuck it into the bottom of the plastic tube holding the wick. After that it works fine. I'm giving it two stars instead of one because the light works great, but the main reason I got it was that the humidifier didn't work until I had to set it up by filling the gap in the wick tube with a piece of chopped straw . Realizing that most people are not going to mess with it to the extent that I did to fix it and that the wick size had to be correct with proper quality control, I give it two stars. Thank you for reading.
