The bits themselves are really nice, no complaints about quality or functionality. I just received them so I can't confirm their durability so I'm giving them 4 stars for now until I have more experience. Consider this: 1) I can't think of a single router that uses single speed 1/2" shank cutters, but if they exist, this isn't for them. You shouldn't run them at more than 15,000 rpm or so. 2) Plan to cut at least three passes. You're removing a lot of wood, and even pine is too much to process in one pass or even two. 3/4 inch deep so make sure your stock is no more than .70 as you won't be able to do this. Also, the slit it creates is absolutely 1/4 inch (if not a bit more) and if your panel is under that size you have a loose fit. I have a recently purchased piece of 1/4" MDF that measures about .245 and fits, although it's not tight. I have an older part that looks more like a .22 and is free, so make sure your 1/4 panel is true and not nominal.(My two 1/4" pieces of MDF come from one or maybe two of the most common places wood is sourced). They use separate grooves and ogee with fillet appendages. My success has been fair and I had the same issues with the two bit approach - you have to be very specific with your materials and cutter height. You'll find differences in thickness between wood manufacturers and materials, say plywood vs MDF, so make sure the materials are as close as possible. Also, practice before trying it in real life.
