Very pleased with this blade. In the late 1990's I purchased a Sears Companion 8" bandsaw. It was a budget model for those looking for the higher price point couldn't afford it. I think I paid less than $50 for it. It's taken some work over the years to make it better, with parts I've made and labor I've done. Sears, however, had never found a blade of the required length. I had to buy a roll of blades, cut them to length and weld them with a welder at work on a Do-All brand band saw. I have made about 25 blades and have been happy. After working for almost 20 years After buying and making all of these blades, my last one has gotten very boring it got to the point where I would rather cut with a handsaw than the saw e turn on and possibly break the blade. And broke the blade I was making late last year. wore them. Now that I'm retired, I can no longer use my employer's welder. So unless I want to pay the high price of welding multiple blades, I figured there were no other options. I've tried searching the internet for saw blades but haven't found anything. Damn, the saw is no longer made as far as I know. I tried to punch the exact length according to the instruction manual and couldn't find any finished blades. I was about to give up and just buy a new saw when I started punching through options on the blade and opening up the required blade length for something else that would fit the wheels. And this blade turned up in my search. I decided to roll the dice and buy one at the grand prize of $7.99. It fits perfectly with no problems. It cuts through butter like a hot knife. I work with a variety of woods, from hardwoods and stabilized burl used for knife scales and pistol grips, to softwoods used to make dollhouse furniture for my granddaughters. This thing cuts them all unmistakably. If you have a Companion 8" band saw and can't find the right length blade, this blade is perfect for it.
