Sturdy but not big enough to stop kittens

We've had this for a month now but have been using it more lately. I have two kittens aged 6 months and 5 months. These two would do anything to be by our side, but it's been tough in a tiny kitchen and sometimes you just need little kitties to get out from under your feet. So I bought the Gate for when we cook or do home workouts. These goals are strong. It's a bit difficult to understand at first and we live in an old house which doesn't feel quite straight forward so some of our doors are difficult to lock properly. However, this is not Gates' fault. We're always good at keeping it in place. At first the kittens could not or did not want to jump over it. It was perfect. When they grew up, they mastered it. We started wrapping a long piece of aluminum foil around the gate hoping it would deter them. As you can see in the video, this is not the case. To the credit of the gate, the kittens take longer to climb over and often stay on the other side and watch. So it definitely helped, but it's not high enough to stop completely. And I'm sure the instant pets and "I'll eat you!" I eat you!" The exact reasons they are so desperate to come back to us. (Watch the video to understand.)
