Works well: Heat Mats

I have been using this pet heat mat for a long time and am happy with it. As you consider this article, there are a few things you might want to know. Despite the manufacturer's claims in the Q&A section, the pillow I received does not require any weight to warm up. I think it's good. A contact switch there would be another thing to break. I have no idea why the manufacturer is concerned about diarrhea. This is a symptom of heat stroke, which doesn't happen on a cold day with a heating pad. The heater is 12 inches in diameter, which matches the product description. Make sure it suits your needs. Placed on the bottom of a large pet bed I find it works well. My pet doesn't need a pad that fills the entire bottom. The gasket is a little lumpy (feel the wires inside). If this worries your pet, or if (like me) you don't like bright red (neutral gray would be better), a thin towel will cover it up and it's easier to clean than a removable cover. Obviously, a thin towel that doesn't block the heat works best. The controller does not remember the last temperature setting when the power switch is turned off, even if the device remains connected to the adapter. This is not surprising, just a small inconvenience so that the stars are not deducted. I had no problems, I just left the adapter plugged in the whole time and used the controls to turn the pad on and off. The pad warns a lot at higher settings, higher than I'll ever need.
