These salt/pepper grinders offer great value for money. We've bought cheaper grinders for about $17 and regretted it. If you pay less than $30-$40 for a pepper mill, you probably won't be happy with its performance. These Fletcher grinders are well built and grind lots of spices with every spin. My only complaint is that they sometimes leave some pepper salt/pepper dust on the counter when you put them on. However, I think this is a problem with any bottom opening grinder. Make sure you buy the right grinder depending on whether you want pepper or salt - salt grinders have a different grind mechanism to prevent salt from corroding. These solid grinders are also preferred over clear glass or plastic grinders, as light can degrade the pepper's flavor over time.
