I wanted microfiber towels with a good texture to clean surfaces without scratching them. Food always ends up on my glass cooktop, but it scratches easily, so I need an easy way to clean it. The actual surface of the towels is quite smooth. The enlarged product photos show the "high" texture, so I'm a bit disappointed. They don't seem to be as absorbent as "old fashioned" microfiber towels. I hope they become more absorbent as the surface wears down with use and washing. In any case, these rags absorb water even better and do not stain like old-fashioned cotton washcloths.
