I have this for my Uniden SDS100 scanner. It mounts easily and securely with the included BNC-SMA adapter. Reception has improved noticeably, stations from several cities that used to be noisy when using a standard antenna are now significantly clearer, and there are even a few stations. which were completely unreadable with the standard antenna, which are now clear enough to understand. Nothing compares to a properly installed roof top antenna with good low loss coaxial cable, but compared to the standard antenna that came with the scanner this is significantly better. NOTE: The stations I receive are mostly on the 2m and 70cm bands, so I can't tell you exactly how they work on the 800MHz and 1200MHz bands or lower bands like 6m and 10m, but I expect they will outperform the standard bands, especially on the lower end. frequencies.
