Caution, watch the clear soap base very closely as you heat it in the microwave. It took us less than the recommended microwave time because we have a powerful microwave. The set contains four basic colors (red, yellow, green, blue). Our 7 year old saw an example of a dinosaur with four colors and decided he wanted to make one on the first try, which took a lot longer (each layer needs at least 45 minutes to cool or the colors will mix an ugly way). and required me to read the instructions at least 20 times to make sure I was doing everything right. It would be easier to start with one color, but four colors looks cool. Soap doesn't break down where colors touch; it sticks together as if it was all done at once. It is currently used as a toy and not a soap, so I cannot comment on its cleansing properties.
