I give this item 3 stars because it deserves 1 star because it wasn't working when I received it but deserves 5 stars because some things worked fine, after I fixed it. When I first connected it to my 2008 Dodge 2500, the unit would not turn on. So I took it to my wife's car, suburban 2014, and pocketed it. Same thing, no power unless I pushed the device very firmly into the OBD connector. Took it back to my truck, still nothing. I cleaned up the hole on the OBD cables and attached them directly to the corresponding pins on the ELM327 using a crocodile. Nothing yet. I decided to disassemble the elm327 adapter and see what the problem is. It turned out that only about 4 or 5 of the 16 connector pins on the board were soldered, none of which were used in my car, so there was no way to connect the pins to my actual OBD connector. Not a lot of room to work, but I soldered the pins to the board, cleaned a few things, plugged it in and everything worked great.
