There is a good chance this will work for your needs. However, it didn't work for me. My main goal for HOOBS was to act as a bridge between my many TP-Link smart devices and the Apple Homekit, but HOOBS has generally failed miserably at that. After many reset attempts, lots of advice on the forums and mostly troubleshooting myself, I was never able to get HOOBS to permanently discover any TP-Link devices on my network (yes, with a "certified" TP-Link plugin ). ). However, the Ring and MyQ plugins seem to work just fine. Ultimately - and to avoid the hassle of returning this and buying a Raspberry Pi (that's all that's in this box) - I just opened it up and started Homebridge for it. It works fantastic (using the exact same plugin). If you're at all techy, save $100 and order a Raspberry Pi 3 and an 8GB SD card, then install Homebridge on it. It's very simple and usually works better. Unless you want to learn a little bit about Homebridge, this might help. Note, however, that this is still a long way from a consumer-friendly plug-and-play solution.
