Great little bike, best in sport

We're not a bike enthusiast family - we all ride for fun but at a leisurely pace. There are no mountain bike/road racing fanatics here. So I took the idea of spending over $200 (damn, over $100) on a 16-inch bike with a lot of skepticism. Until I borrowed a lightweight 12 inch freewheel bike from a friend (who is a mountain bike fanatic) and my 3 year old daughter rode it completely by herself in three 10 minute sessions. This 16" bike is a great balance of good features and a reasonable price for what you get (handbrake with rear freewheel, frame light enough for a preschooler to lift). My daughter is now three and a half years old and just big enough to ride it. She's having a great time with him and probably will be for a few more years. It's worth it and I expect to pass it on when she outgrows it. Assembly was easy, although the instructions are pretty flimsy. I had to adjust the front brake to get the wheel spinning freely. There are no instructions for assembling the plastic belt case (chain) but I figured it out. Your comfort with the bike continues to grow. She can both lift it over the curb and roll it off the curb unaided, and now she's fast enough that I have to run to keep up with her (plus? minus? YOU DECIDE!). really wants to ride his "silver bike” and gets back on after a fall. Great bike.
