After removing the rear cats on my 2001 Ford F150 5.4 I had a 3 inch exhaust installed with this muffler. I had dual exhaust systems with H, X, Flowmasters, Spintechs and Brolas pipes. Nothing beats the sound, performance and value of Magnaflow. However, I have to say that as with any muffler, it's difficult to gauge the amount of sound and volume you're getting. Sometimes they are surprisingly loud and sometimes surprisingly quiet. You just have to read ratings and reviews. IMHO it's the best of both worlds between clean but average sound.
