I've been using Corsair power supplies for 13 years and have never had a single problem with any of the devices I've built from them (including some for family and friends). I have a couple of old x58 I7-980x computers that have been in constant use for ten years and are running on an older AX1200, the same big rebuilt power supply as the HX1200. Like the old AX1200, this HX1200 is mainly built with high quality Japanese capacitors. Aside from this power supply being 80+ Platinum certified, a very significant improvement compared to the older AX1200 Gold's efficiency certification is the ability to use a toggle switch to split a huge single 12 volt 100 amp rail into multiple 40's -Maximum Amps Overcurrent Protected, 12V Rails. . The old AX1200, like this HX1200, is built around a single-wire 12V rail, but the old AX didn't have the ability to split the rails, allowing a device with a basic electrical fault to 1200W/ 100A over a single cable (low possibility, but still). The HX1200 finally solves this problem. Given that a PSU is one of the most important components you can buy when building a machine with high-demand components, spending a few bucks more for quality is far better than Corsair's under-spec PSU . For more than ten years they have been the best money can buy.
