Review on Logan 701-1 Straight Cutter Elite: Perfect Tool for Precision Framing and Matting of Matboard and Foamboard by Tara Ford

I agree with the reviewers who complain that the blade isn't sharp enough and the construction is weak. Good cut in one pass. If I apply constant pressure and cut from the inside start board (not across the edges) I can start a nice clean cut, but when I start getting close to the other edge the blade starts to bind, resulting in a break along the cut line The job is good, but if the board/cut is about to separate the blade starts to sag due to the light weight of the cutter and the lack of sharpness of the blade Small passes rather than trying to cut all the way through The first attempt resulted in what I wanted , and I've usually had to try hand scraping with an X-acto blade (never gets d on the end) or throw the piece away entirely and try it again. I really wanted this to work and I tried a lot but didn't get great results. I am looking elsewhere and crossing my fingers for something faster, cleaner and more reliable.
