If you only use this 1 thermometer you might be disappointed? Since I have 3 other types, that 2 degrees seems imprecise, so a simple subtraction of 2 degrees always works for me. One of my heaters only works on the C scale, so this unit is in this tank to switch (on the fly) to the F scale. Handy for those of us who are more familiar with the F-Scale than the C-Scale: it registers transient changes (maybe not the fastest) but that's not a problem and always easy to read for me. Don't count on subtracting just 2 degrees as accuracy can vary from one to the next. This is handy for those who use multiple thermometers for comparison purposes. I can call this a body weight scale that's always 2 pounds higher than the doctor's, just subtract 2 and you know where the temp is.
