Work reasonably well, for the price.
Got a pair for myself. They increase the volume well. In fact, I had to set it on the lowest settings, otherwise they make the sound too loud for me.I wish they would have a rudimentary control for increasing the high frequencies only. Something that is available on the cheapest radios and stereos. I think the circuitry is already there, but the control does not seem to be exposed to the user.
