Review on πŸ› οΈ TT TOPDON OBD2 Scanner TD300: Engine Light Check, Turn-Off & I/M Readiness | 7000 DTC Definitions by Scott Kalinowski

Simple, effective and inexpensive!

The TD300 comes with a beautifully printed manual. While it contains a ton of useful information, finding the cause(s) of your "Check Engine" light isn't difficult. Basically, you just plug the TD300 into your vehicle's OBD socket and turn on the ignition. An engine start is not required. When the OBD code appears, just write it down and look it up in the manual. Better yet, google it for a more detailed explanation of its meaning. After reading the code, you can also scroll down to "Delete" and press Enter on "Yes". Immediately your check engine light will disappear! If you need a smog check for DMV registration you will need to clear/wipe the check engine light. Your vehicle cannot be checked if the light is on. Just remember that after cleaning you need to drive your car 50-100 miles to prepare it for the test. The operational readiness can then be determined with the TD300. If everything is fine and the Check Engine light is still off, it's time to run to the gas station and do it! I'm by no means an expert, but if the OBD code indicates something serious, the problem needs to be addressed to avoid damage to your vehicle. Just common sense! The device has a 2-line backlit display with bright, bold characters. Worked beautifully on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe. An excellent investment at a ridiculously low price.
