After adopting my pregnant cat who calved almost immediately, both of my dogs started marking their territory as soon as I got home. The situation was not long in coming. So I went out and bought Hoover's latest and greatest carpet cleaner, the Smartwash. Well, I went to every part of the house that had carpets or rugs. So far I have tried several different shampoos and carpet cleaners with this machine. Just to see if I could make a difference I bought this little black light to go back and see if the abomination was really gone. MY GOD! If you're dealing with animal accidents, be sure to get an enzymatic shampoo or cleanser. Black light doesn't lie. Nature's Miracle Carpet Shampoo was the best shampoo I've tried. Black light showed a fairly good reduction in tint. However, the Bissell Professional Urine Eliminator with Oxy, which is not an enzymatic cleaner, did nothing. When that little black light hit the carpet, I felt nauseous. I had no idea two little balls of fur could do so much damage. I'm thankful for this little light because now I know if I'm cleaning things up. But ignorance is bliss. I almost think it would be better not to know. Be sure to use this black light in the dark. You should have a room that you test to be as dark as possible. Biological stains do not appear under such lighting during the day or when the lights are on.
