As is usual with all KitchenAid products, this little appliance works flawlessly. I used to have to wash the starch off the pasta I cooked to keep it from sticking together. Then I learned to bypass this step by adding some olive oil to the water the pasta was cooked in. But how do you get the pasta out of the pan and onto a plate? I bought two tools, both from KitchenAid: a spaghetti pasta gripper and this strainer for smaller, shorter pasta (like elbow or rotini). Now I use this wonderful thing to get cooked noodles out of water easily and painlessly. This is of course MUCH EASIER than catching them with a slotted spoon!
