My 4 year old is truly an island kid, just like his father. Snow is none of his business. So we prepared it as best we could. Last time he slipped and slipped and wasn't happy at all. This time I told him the meatleg underneath was a powerful claw that would help him walk on snow/ice and it worked! No slip. Feet stayed nice and dry/warm. Easy-to-use Velcro closure in case your hands get cold. However, watch out for the prices. Prices can vary greatly depending on size. I decided to take it a size up so hopefully next season I can go as it was almost double the size this year. We loved them so much I suggested my cousin buy them for her two kids and she did and they love hers too!
