Make sure the recess it goes into isn't corroded.
Item fits as it should and works perfectly. I highly recommend thoroughly cleaning and lubricating the indentation where the plug enters the oil pan. Mine was frozen in there and it took several hours of appropriate air hammer blows to remove the broken part that necessitated this purchase.
