I bought this OBD reader to clear the check engine light on my 08 4runner. I have an iPhone 8. I checked the BAFX website to see if this is the correct scanner for my phone type, it was correct. Simple instructions are included and there are good YouTube videos if it's easy to get lost. The device connects easily to my phone, I downloaded Fusion which is $10 from the iStore but there are free app options if you do a little searching. So far the device has followed the steps to connect to my car and phone and had me turn off the check engine light twice. Now it can do this with a broken gas cap that I ordered a replacement for. The only downside of a Wi-Fi connection compared to Bluetooth, which is only available with Android, is that you have to take a screenshot of the error codes or otherwise write them down in order to investigate them online. Connecting to a device disconnects you from the internet. It doesn't matter much and there might be a way in the OBD Fusion app to log this information when connected to your normal internet connection, which I just haven't investigated.
