Review on πŸ”Š AOSHIKE TPA3116 100W Subwoofer Amplifier Board: Small Power Amp for Video & Audio Accessories by Courtney Richardson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Delivers shocking results! (not literal)

So I bought this board on a whim. I was trying to build a DIY 12 inch subwoofer for my home audio system. I got all the components for $80. This guy has a 24 volt power supply, an MTX subwoofer, and this board. I have a subwoofer hooked up and it has a 4 ohm load, 5 amp 24 volt power supply and my home theater subwoofer output is a mono RCA jack. The subwoofer is 200W RMS so the best I can hope for from this little guy is 100W. It took me by surprise. I turned this unit up to full volume and let my home theater receiver drive the low pass filter. Then some music started playing with a decently heavy bass, the radiators almost didn't heat up to the touch. The sound quality was excellent, no audible distortion (oh I hate distortion) and very clean strong woofer hits. The quality of the board is pretty decent, you can tell the components are hand filled and considering this is a hand made board I'd say I'm a soldering scientist, no cold connections, I didn't feel like having to rework. . Just plug and play and that's it. Very happy with the value for money. Be sure to get a power supply with at least 5 amps and headroom so that the power supply lasts longer and the voltage on this board does not drop under load.

Pros
  • Apparently everything is ready
Cons
  • Availability for exchange
