Great for cats outdoors

I would actually give it 4.5 stars (5 with better pavement and bottom). We have two outdoor cats. Last winter my wife lost a lot of sleep because she put hand warmers in her kitty carrier to keep her mother cat warm. This year we have her and one of her kittens that we left behind. We needed the best shelter for two kittens. So we bought the small extreme version along with the insulation pack and matching door for about $160. Pros: 1. It was easy to assemble with a small folding screwdriver. It took about 15 minutes.2. The insulating bag fits perfectly and has a removable deck. It has a washable canvas cover and the bottom is soft.3. Spacious enough for two adult kittens without burdening the carrying capacity of the house.3. An offset door that allows crampons to nestle against the elements at your back.4. Raised floor to keep kittens dry.5. With the door installed, the temperature can be maintained and you are better protected from rain/snow. Disadvantages: 1. Lightweight. Can be easily damaged by a violent dog.2. The wooden floor consists of three parts and is quite light. Might be a challenge for a 20lb dog but great for two cats! One of the sides was not drilled for a perfect fit, but everything is fine with the insulation pack installed.4. Could be better with stains. I have resealed them with a clear top coat to provide better weather protection as the stain matches the color of my gazebo and fence perfectly. We also purchased a pet bed microwave oven to provide an additional heat source on top of the two cats' body heat. The house, the door, the insulating bag and the bed heater work quite well. The male (7 months old) took root as soon as we put him outside. Mom (yes it's fixed now) took a few days to get used to it. In the rain, the built-in door behaves well. We didn't put the door in until the cats got used to using the house. The main thing is that the house is warm enough and dry enough for the kittens! Rain. We have the most rain from the northeast. Continue from SW. So we oriented the door so the door faces W so the sheltered side of the house is on the south side and less affected by rain and wind. Hope this helps you kitty owners!
