Review on ☕ 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker by Black & Decker CMD3400MB by Brooke Rogers

Black & Decker should stick to power tools

I bought this coffee maker about 8 months ago to replace a crazy coffee maker in a furnished apartment. I figured it would outlast me the year I planned to be here. Ha. Who designed this thing anyway? I've never had a coffee maker in my life that wouldn't turn off without unplugging it. Also, the lid of the water chamber opens and blocks the chamber itself, so you actually have to turn the machine over to pour water in. The controls are on the flat top of the coffee basket so you can't see them on a tall stand. And the part of the basket that slides out to let the coffee in was never securely locked into its housing. Again, I figured out what year it was, what the heck, and used it anyway. Three months after making tolerable coffee, the heating pad began to rust no matter how clean I kept it, and now it barely works. Even if the coffee is just ready, it's lukewarm at best. Will never buy a Black & Decker coffee maker again. Can't wait to get back to the Krups I have at home which aren't the best of the line but reasonably designed gear.

Pros
