I used it on my small desk in my small bedroom. It's good that it's small, but there's a big problem with mist condensation on the tip regardless of mist mode (constant or intermittent), so the spout is sealed with water and the mist gets stuck. I have to wipe the condensation off the top about every five to ten minutes to keep the fog spreading. I would not recommend adding EO. With this design, EO is likely to shorten the life expectancy of the device. -- Update -- Is this a cheap fake? I don't know how, but water got into the bottom of the unit, between the tank and the outer case, and I can't remove it. Not only that, after about 4 hours of use, there were problems turning it on and creating fog. Water condensed and pooled at the top and dripped down the sides. It's just a royal mess from a humidifier. Although it makes a nice night light. Curiously, this feature was still functional when the fog cleared completely.
