My husband assembled this so can't comment but it's not heavy/heavy. Trays fit into the grooves on the side and slide right out of the stand. Trays are light and thin. Bar up - not sure if that's the goal, other than maybe stability. Do not try to lift the device by holding it! I would have sent it back but it was all full and I found a spot in my office closet for some of the stuff that got thrown on top of each other. Overall a good idea, but it needs to be stronger to be usable on a table. The price corresponds to the quality in my opinion.
