I hung the brazier near the fire because the legs and chain were shorter than I thought and the legs got so hot that they started to weaken! This tripod is rated at around 10-15 pounds and I know the pot itself weighs around 6 pounds. I was baking bread so the weight in the pot wasn't much more than a pound bringing the total weight to about 8 pounds including coals. I was very disappointed with the damage, but I was able to bend my legs almost normally. Expect it to be less than you'd like and you'll probably be fine :)
