Review on Rugged Ridge 2.5 Inch Suspension Lift Kit with Shocks for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK by Scott Snyder

Hidden requirements cost you more.

So I broke down and bought this lift for my 2008 2-door JK thinking a 2.5" to 3.5" lift would work for me and the kind of trails I like to run are enough. . I installed it in my driveway in one day with the help of a friend. Installation is pretty easy, but you'll have to watch how other kits install on YouTube to know you'll need to move the rear end links to the front and install the end links that came with the kit to the rear. Don't be afraid of the holes you need to drill, they're pretty easy and won't hamper your future plans for a more powerful lift once you have the money. I purchased a Rugged Ridge steering damper and installed it at the same time as the lift kit. Here's my problem. I have a Rugged Ridge modular bumper in the front with an XRC-8 winch and a tubular Rugged Ridge bumper in the rear. I got a 4" lift kit with this kit. The problem is that I now have to buy a new crank to accommodate the angle required for the stroke. Also, one of the shocks has already started to leak. Looking forward to it looking to buy better shocks in the near future I started this purchase thinking that since my JK has clocked up 50,000 miles this would be the perfect time to change shocks anyway this kit will be an opportunity to do so and get one at the same time little buoyancy. It's only been two weeks and the shock is leaking. I really like the extra height but I don't like the extra purchases I have to make to fully enjoy it. Recommendation, don't buy this kit. It There are many options in this price range and you will be able to avoid the hidden costs that come with them, you are basically paying $600 for feathers and a few Blocks. new shock absorbers. Follow up: Omix sends a replacement shock absorber for the broken shock absorber I received ed. I didn't notice much change in handling while riding which is nice.
