First of all, judging by the design, this is just a vertical shelf. The people who used it sideways and broke it are at your expense. That being said, it's still not a very high quality product and certainly not worth $55. $15 would be a fair price considering it's the same quality as a Walmart bookshelf, which is about the same price. Double-sided tape would be nice if the dowels were longer, but they only jut into adjacent shelves. The piece is about 1/3 inch, giving it very little lateral stability. If someone stumbles over it, I have a feeling it's in serious danger of falling apart. It's really easy to assemble, but that's probably one of its downsides. I would have preferred if it had taken me 5 minutes longer. Assembly time to get a quality product with screws and some extra stability. My other complaint has to do with ergonomics. A pair of legs or something to raise it off the ground would be nice. Bottom square is not convenient to view and return haha. Would get 4 stars if this product was priced right, but at $55 it falls far short of its reasonable price.
