Review on Kodak Easyshare Digital Camera Stabilized by Matthew Frandsen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great camera! for digital cameras

I have never owned a digital camera. Here are the reasons I chose this amazing camera: 1. Image stabilization (reduces the chance of blurry images), which is especially important when zooming in.2. 12x optical zoom, ideal for portrait photography.3. the ability to use additional filters and lenses with an adapter supplied by Kodak.4. You can choose between using the LCD or optical viewfinder. Turning off the LCD saves battery power. (Most pocket digital cameras don't even have an optical viewfinder.) The image you see in the viewfinder or on the LCD does not suffer from parallax. As with a DSLR, what you see in the viewfinder is the actual photographic image. Large LCD screen (2.5 inch). I'm not getting any younger and tiny screens are hard to work with. 6. High-quality lens combined with 5MP allows you to capture high definition and high definition images. There are options for TIFF and RAW formats. which I am not familiar with but hope to learn about. I've only used this camera for a couple of sessions, but I'm impressed with the ease of use. The flash can be turned off if desired. Photos are sent to Kodakgallery.com where you can share albums via email. There are some fun special effects and edits you can do through the Kodak Gallery. If you don't want to use the pre-flash to reduce red-eye, you can edit red-eye in the Kodak Gallery. I have not found any case or cover made for this camera. The straps stretch so the camera can stay around your neck or in your pocket and stay protected. The Kodak case I bought has the camera turned sideways to fit in the case and there is no room for straps. I hope someone at the company reads these reviews! This camera deserves a great body. It would also be nice to be able to screw on the filters directly without an adapter. This is not a pocket camera, but it fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and is very portable. I plan to add a wide angle lens, a UV filter and a polarizing filter. Why would anyone want a DSLR when the Kodak Easyshare P850 offers portability, versatility and affordability combined with superb images.
