One day I realized my house didn't have a fire alarm or protection so I set out to find good fire/smoke/CO2 detectors that worked well together and didn't break the bank. After a lot of searching and reading tons of reviews I decided to go with the Kidde brand and the wired version so I didn't have to worry about the batteries beeping all the time. After they walked in, I climbed up into my attic and ran 14/3 Romex wire all over the attic, firing each detector in turn from start to finish (there are 9 total). After turning them all on I hit the test button and they all came to life beeping and talking letting me know everything was working. I like it when there is quiet in my house now. It was worth every penny.
