Review on Small Capacity Galvanized Steel Wall-Mount Mailbox in Black - Gibraltar Mailboxes THHB0001 by Troy Arnold

I bought this to replace a rusty post box that looks very similar to this product. When I received the package I noticed some differences from my rusty mailbox. Firstly, due to the way the sheet metal is cut, this product leaves about 1cm of space between the wall and the mailbox, whereas my old mailbox was flush with the wall. The downside to this is that the slot is accessible by opening the letterbox cover and I've had one instance where the postman accidentally dropped a letter in the gap between the back of the letterbox and the wall. The letter that fell into the slot was difficult to remove. Also, the lid of my old mailbox was attached to the bottom of the mailbox with a large loop that ran the full width of the mailbox. The lid of the model is only attached with rivets on each side of the lid. My concern is that over time at least one rivet will fail or rust and the cover will come off easily. The time will show.
