I bought the Orbi RBK50 System because it was widely described as the best mesh system on the market. It took a few tries to set it up properly, but I was willing to accept that as the price for a good whole-house Wi-Fi system. I finally got everything set up and was happy with the coverage I got. The first week was great. Then something went wrong. First there were several signal failures. This happened maybe every other day and the system seemed to reconnect after the disconnect. It hurt when our streams were constantly interrupted, but it was better than before the mesh system. Then the flights began to happen more frequently. Then the self-connection stopped and I had to turn the router off and on again. Research online has shown that this is not uncommon. And there weren't any solutions I could find that actually worked. When I had to shut down my router three times an hour, I was ready. I picked up the network system from Google and was amazed at how incredibly quick and easy it was to set up! Google's mesh network isn't as powerful as Orbi, but we haven't had a single crash, and I installed and hosted all three nodes throughout the house in about 15 minutes. That's less than a quarter of the time I spent setting up the Orbi system.
