Review on 🚴 Enhance Cycling Experience with Delta Cycle Bike Bicycle Stem Raiser: Riser Pro Extender for Elevated Handlebars by Kiko Fanandriansyah

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Makes 10-mile rides enjoyable again

This stem extender successfully converted my teenage mountain bike into a comfortable trekker/cruiser for this weekend Clydesdale rider. After replacing my mountain tires with touring tires, I still felt uncomfortable even over short distances due to the low handlebar height. After installing this Delta Pro Lift, my handlebars are a few inches higher than the seat and I'm very comfortable on rides over 15 miles. Two problems: First, it was difficult to preload the headset bearings properly. . The long 5mm allen wrench seemed to flex before the bearings were sufficiently preloaded. I removed the center screw and applied a small amount of lithium grease to the screw's threads. After reinstalling the stem jack with this bolt, I was able to easily fix the bearing play with an acceptable torque on the center bolt. the amount of slip/rotation of the rod on the steering column. It didn't happen while driving, but simply turning the steering wheel left or right while holding the tire was unacceptable. Even with clean mating surfaces on both the stem and stem, I was unable to eliminate the slippage. After a bit of research, I decided to apply carbon fiber mounting gel to the aluminum mating surfaces between the headset and the stem before assembly. Since significantly less torque is used during assembly, any slippage has been eliminated. Following advice from previous posts, I applied a small amount of blue threadlocker to the threads of the pull studs prior to installation to ensure the slip didn't come back. The whole assembly is very reliable and functional. Unlike other stem raisers, you can easily adjust the stem height of the Delta Pro stem raiser with just an Allen key. Once the stem jack is properly installed to the steering column with the appropriate washers, no shims are required to install the stem to the stem jack. The stem can be easily raised or lowered on the day of the ride to suit your needs.
