I bought this card to increase network speed on an old network storage tower. The instructions said to install the drivers first (no indication of where to find them) but have never had to do this with Win 10 before, just installed the card. When Windows Pro didn't recognize the card, I went back to the old-school method. I removed the original NIC and all conditions for it in Device Manager. Switch off, pull out the mains plug for approx. 30 seconds. Plugged in again, switched on and done. Now there's the gigabyte speed I've been looking for. Since this kit included a cable and a screwdriver, it didn't even require a trip to the tool box. I don't know if my initial installation problem was a Windows Pro issue or a new feature added by a recent update, but now everything is working as expected.
